free vs paid dating sitesLike many others, I’ve been having the hardest time trying to find a date online. I have only used free hookup sites so far. I’ve never actually paid for membership. Do you think my luck will change if I sign up and pay for a premium account on a reputable paid community?

Thanks in advance,

Frank

Hey Frank, good question, I’m sure a lot of people are wondering the same thing. I’m not an advocate of free communities myself. I hate ads, despise spammers and can’t stand scammers. I’d rather pay a small monthly fee and avoid all this nonsense altogether. There are however some pros to using a free dating site as opposed to a paid one. Naturally, there are more members on sites like Plenty of Fish and OkCupid giving you more options, especially for females seeking males.

Paid date sites have many advantages. Mainly, members are serious are meeting up. This is reason enough to fork over a few bucks a month. Also, you’ll get a lot more options like video chat portals, chemistry matches and more. When you’re looking for quality, this is surely the way to go.

Oftentimes, people ask me “What if I can’t afford it?” Unfortunately, there are people that are unable to afford 20-30 $ a month to sign up to a premium matchmaking site. The obvious and sad truth is that if you can’t spend 20$ a month on the subscription, I don’t see how you’ll be able to go out on a date even if you do go Dutch. If you’re strapped for cash, maybe a better alternative would be using an online chat roulette site like Omegle. Have a little fun online with the opposite sex and keep your wallet in your pocket.

If you’re serious about meeting someone and want to avoid a lot of needless garbage, use a premium dating site. If you’re just starting off and want to test the waters, sign up to a site like POF.COM and see if online dating is for you.
